Students! Make your voice heard!!๐Ÿ“ข Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ students in Nova Scotia (in Miโ€™kmaโ€™ki)!๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD: All-Gender Washrooms and Change Rooms Feedback SurveyThe Inclusion Advocacy Committee, a group of dedicated educators, health professionals, parents, and community partners like the Youth Project, are looking for feedback from 2SLGBTQIA+ students in Nova Scotia on installing Multi-Stall, All-Gender Washrooms and Change Rooms in our public schools. There are two surveys: One for 2SLGBTQIA+ students grades 5+ bit.ly/3tHbeLSOne for elementary-aged 2SLGBTQIA+ students to be completed with assistance from their parents, guardians, and/or a trusted, safe adult/loved one.bit.ly/3f7762rโ˜‘๏ธ Deadline to submit your feedback is May 21st. The survey is an anonymous Google Form with a variety of multiple choice, short, and long answer questions. If you would like to submit an audio or video file, if you would like to submit your responses in an alternate way, and/or if participation is inaccessible to you in any way please reach out to nik@youthproject.ns.ca. As a committee, we are advocating that multi-stall, all-gender washrooms is an equity issue as it can increase the safety and well-being of all students, especially Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, gender creative, and gender non-conforming students. We understand that single-stall, private, all-gender washrooms are often offered as an option to students, however this can still contribute to stigmatization, outing, and realities of isolation and/or othering.โœจ It is so important that the perspectives, ideas, and lived experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth are leaders in this conversation which is why we want to hear from you. We appreciate your brilliance and insight always![Image Description]: Illustration of the inside of a bathroom stall with baby blue tile, pink walls, red flooring, and a blue-grey stall partition. On the stall partition is dark blue lettering and an illustration that says โ€œMake your voice heard!โ€ in bold letters, and โ€œAll gender washrooms and change rooms!โ€ in lighter letters coming out of a megaphone; in the top right corner is the logo for the Youth Project. The megaphone is being held by a hairy arm, and there are sound lines coming out of the megaphone. A white paper poster taped to the wall reads โ€œcall for feedback from 2SLGBTQIA+ youthโ€, and a piece of paper tacked below the poster reads โ€œdeadline May 21stโ€. Inside the stall is a black waste bin beside a grab bar installed on the wall. ... See MoreSee Less
